New Ralph Lauren home collection
8th March 2001
The mood of the recently launched new Ralph Lauren Home Collectionis opulent, luxurious and sensual with an abundance of wool blankets and throws.
From the super luxury side of the 'Collector' range, red fox throws, a black leather and twill chaise and shearling and alligator throw pillows are part of the exotica. Alpaca shams with leather trim, yarn-dyed windowpane plaid sheets and a cashmere bed blanket are highlights.
The collection, an updated version of the company's early and classic 'Thoroughbred' Collection, reflects the influence of ancestral hunting lodges.
Replacing animal skin effects is a python motif, offered in real gilded python skin for decorative pillows.
Classic English lines are highlighted in the furniture, and the home textiles are in shades of olive, purple, brown and white.
Accessory textiles include a mohair plaid throw, tattersall and jacquard cable towels and a herringbone wool throw with leather trim.
In 'Modern Country' the look is clean and graphic. The look consists of fringed wool blankets with cotton top sheet embellished with crochet work reminiscent of an
antique table cloth. Wool knit throw blankets complete the range.
In 'Aubusson', the collection features a mohair bed blanket, a throw of Mongolian fur backed with embroidered pashmina, crewel enhanced pillows and embroidered gold pillows with pearl detailing.
'Madison Avenue', the fifth lifestyle, features faux sable, cotton sateen, and Clayton jacquard as sheets.
